The Guide for Cooperation is jointly developed by hospital, physician and media organizations to provide a common understanding of how state and federal law affect the handling of patient information. The Guide also provides uniform guidelines under which hospitals and physicians will cooperate with news outlets to provide accurate, timely coverage of medical and other health-related events in Washington state.
